Omaha Jitterbugs’ History

Vision:

Preserve and honor the history of the uniquely American art forms of swing dancing and swing music

Mission:

Provide affordable swing dance instruction and social dances that build community and spread joy. Serving more than 150 adults and children each week, Omaha Jitterbugs improves mental and physical health, teaches social skills, and fosters personal expression.

As a nonprofit arts organization founded in 2000, it runs Jitterbugs’ Night Out weekly, provides educational programs for all ages, and hosts regional events, featuring national instructors and music acts.

  • Itsy Bitsy: Early Childhood Classes

  • Lindy in the Park
  • Cowtown Jamborama: Annual Jazz and Swing Dance Festival
