Laura Keat (Denver) & Ceth Stifel (Denver) — Intermediate Level Classes
LAURA KEAT began her swing dance career in Denver when she joined the award-winning Lindy Hop performance team, 23 Skidoo! She immediately developed a passion for the art of swing dancing. Ever the disciplined student and skilled competitor, Laura began winning national titles and gaining recognition as a championship lindy hop follow with an independent style and point of view. She loves dancing with a wide variety of leads with diverse styles and ideas to challenge and broaden her own abilities as a follow.
CETH STIFEL is a champion level tap dancer, Lindy Hopper, and a master choreographer. He has performed on the award winning Lindy Hop team, 23 Skidoo, since its inception in 1999. As a dancer, Ceth is known for his solo movement, rhythmic footwork and creativity.
Larry and Rae Mullica (Des Moines) — Lindy Hop NOW for Absolute Beginners
LARRY & RAE MULLICA are favorites among the students in the Central Iowa Swing dance scene. Known for their fun and energetic approach to teaching, they have inspired many new Hepcats to continue their education about the Swing dance culture.
Larry and Rae had the wonderful opportunity to teach with Frankie Manning in 2006 at the Frank Manning Workshop in Fairfield, Iowa. They have also taught at Hawkeye Swing Festival and helped organized and bring Heartland Swing Festival to Des Moines in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016.
Larry and Rae are known for their fun, smooth style, and flair to perform. They love teaching all forms of Swing and continue to look for new and creative ways to teach and get people dancing.
2 Levels of workshops
Level 1 Lindy Hop Now! (Absolute Beginner)
This is an introductory level track geared toward those with little or no experience. Students will learn to dance the basics of the Lindy Hop, a popular athletic swing dance from the 1930s & 1940s. Don’t worry about bringing a partner; we will be rotating in class. This track includes four hours of classes on Saturday (plus all the dances).
Dancer is comfortable dancing Lindy at medium tempos, has taken some classes, and regularly attends social dances. You are comfortable with fundamental Lindy basics: swing outs, tuck turns, and basic Charleston; basic swing rhythms: triples, steps, and holds; and regularly integrate 6 and 8 count patterns. You are ready to add more variation to your repertoire.
Cowtown Jamborama will be held at 201 South 24th Street, Omaha Nebraska 68104.
We are asking all attendees to monitor their daily health. While we cannot guarantee zero risk at the event, we are working to provide a safe and meaningful event and trust that attendees will do the same. We recommend that all attendees take a COVID-19 at-home test prior to arrival on the day of the event. You will not be required to provide test results to attend. Please do not attend if you have tested positive or are experiencing symptoms.
